Balangan is a long left-hand reef break on the Bukit's western coast, overlooked by a row of scenic cliff-top warungs.
A fast left breaks along a coral reef shelf, producing long, walling rides of 150-300m on good swells. The outside section has more power and barrel potential, while the inside reforms offer easier waves. The wave has consistent shape and is a favorite for longboarders and shortboarders alike.
Dry season (April-October) with SW swells at 4-6ft. Mid to high tide is safest. Low tide exposes the reef and makes the inside section dangerous. SE trade winds.
Cliff-top parking area with stairs down to the beach. Easy access compared to other Bukit spots.
