Balian is a versatile rivermouth break at the sacred Balian river, offering something for everyone from beginners to advanced surfers.
A-frame peaks break over flat rocks at the river mouth, producing both lefts and rights. The left tends to be longer and more powerful, while the right is shorter and mellower. The river mouth shaping creates consistent, well-defined peaks. Rarely goes completely flat, making it one of Bali's most consistent waves.
Works year-round due to its positioning. Dry season (April-October) for the best shape with SW swells. Handles most tide states. SE trade winds.
2.5-hour drive from Kuta. Beach access from the growing surf village at the river mouth. Basic accommodation, warungs, and a chilled vibe.
