Medewi is the crown jewel of West Bali surfing, a long left-hand point break that produces some of the longest rides on the island.
A long, peeling left breaks over a cobblestone bottom along the point. Rides of 150-300m are standard on good swells, with the wave maintaining rideable shape for its entire length. Not a barrel wave - instead it delivers long, walling faces perfect for carving turns. A surfer's wave.
Dry season (April-October) with solid SW swells at 4-8ft. Works on most tides. SE trade winds. The 3-hour drive from Kuta keeps crowds manageable.
