Echo Beach Left (locally called Little Tahiti or Stairs) is a powerful left-hand reef break sitting just west of the main Echo Beach peak.
A fast, hollow left that breaks over volcanic reef. When the swell is in the 4-6ft range and the tide is right, it produces thick, dredging barrels reminiscent of its Tahitian nickname. The wave is short but incredibly intense.
Dry season (April-October) with SW swells at 4-8ft. Higher tides are essential as the reef is extremely shallow. Best on the incoming tide from mid to high.
Walk west from Echo Beach along the reef, or descend the stairs at the western end of the beach.
