Kuta Beach is where Bali's surf story began, and it remains the most popular beginner beach on the island. The 2km sand strip offers gentle waves perfect for first-timers.
Mellow beach break waves roll over a sandy bottom with no reef or rocks. Multiple peaks spread across the wide beach. Waves rarely exceed chest height, making it safe for beginners. Shifting sandbanks create new peaks daily.
Works year-round. Dry season (April-October) for cleanest conditions. Mid to high tide tames the shorebreak. Any swell direction produces waves.
Easiest access in Bali. The entire beach strip has entry points, board rental, surf schools, restaurants, and lifeguards.
