Kuta Reef is where it all started. This offshore reef break, about 800m from Kuta Beach, was one of the first waves surfed in Bali and helped put Indonesia on the surf map.
A quality left breaks over coral reef, producing long, walling rides with good shape. The wave is consistent and well-defined, with barrel sections on solid swells. Being offshore, it is often cleaner than the beach breaks.
Dry season (April-October) with solid SW swells at 4-6ft. Mid to high tide. SE trade winds. Handles a wide range of swell sizes.
Boat access from Kuta Beach. Local outrigger boats offer rides to the reef.
