Nyang Nyang is one of the most remote and intimidating surf spots on the Bukit Peninsula, requiring a descent of 600+ steps to reach the wave.
A powerful right breaks over shallow coral reef. The wave has real consequence - heavy lips, shallow bottom, and strong currents. On its day, it produces world-class right-hand barrels in complete solitude. The remoteness means you are often the only surfer in the water.
Dry season (April-October) with solid SW swells. Mid to high tide only - the reef is dangerously shallow at low tide. Needs 4ft+ to be worth the climb down.
600+ cliff steps from the top. The climb back up after a surf is brutal. Bring water and energy food. No facilities at the beach.
